Art Takes to the Streets

Covilhã is the epicentre of the street art movement.

Distinguished as the Street Art capital of central Portugal, the driving force behind this artistic current was the WOOL Festival, which invites visitors to see over 40 works of art scattered around the city’s old quarter.

Wool mills and the industrial heritage of Covilhã are some of the themes that inspire the murals hidden among the streets and alleys of the snowy city.
